The Thomaston Public Library Poets’ Corner group was started at the end of 2022 and has been meeting regularly ever since.
In our Poets’ Corner meetings, each poet usually brings copies of the poem or poems they plan to read so they can hand them out to the other poets attending the meeting. read more
During National Poetry Month (April) and at other times, the Poets’ Corner group and Thomaston Public Library host special events, inviting poets from the Midcoast to come share their work and hear the poetry of others in a much loved 1st floor setting at Thomaston Public Library.
If you would like to help us thank the folks at Thomaston Public Library for giving us a home and hosting our special events, please consider making a donation to the library. On the Thomaston Public Library’s website, scroll down and look for the Donate button on their donatation page. Thank you.
This is the second Midcoast Maine Public Library Poets’ Corner group. The first Poets’ Corner was started in Rockport in 2012 by the poets Jim Ostheimer and George S. Chappell.
There is also another organization in the Midcoast area with a name like ours. The Poets Corner was created in 2020 to focus on poetry and short prose special events and education.
